    October 20, 1977 : "LYNYRD SKYNYRD"'s Ronnie Van Zant, Steve and Cassie Gaines are killed in plane crash. The event occurs three days after the release of "Lynyrd Skynyrd"'s "Street Survivors" album which depicts the band standing among flames on the cover.

    October 19, 1979 : "IRON MAIDEN" headline the Marquee for the first time. It's also the first time record companies come to see the band. The show is a sell-out.

    October 18, 1993 : "IRON MAIDEN" release the album, "A Real Dead One".

    October 18, 1999 : original ALICE COOPER guitarist Glen Buxton, co-writer of 'School's Out', 'I'm Eighteen' and 'Elected', dies at 49 of pneumonia.

    October 18, 2002 : "QUEEN" are honoured with their own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
