July 29, 1973 : "LED ZEPPELIN", in the midst of a very successful U.S. tour, are the victims of one of the largest cash thefts in New York City as $180,000 is taken from the band's deposit box at the Drake Hotel. The money is mostly cash receipts from the first of two night at Madison Square Garden.
July 26, 1976 : "TED NUGENT"'s self-titled sixth album goes gold.
July 25, 1980 : "AC/DC" releases "Back In Black",their first album with Brian Johnson as lead singer.
July 25, 1980 : "KISS" introduce new drummer,Eric Carr,at a concert at the Paladium in New York City.Carr,who wears fox make-up,replaces Peter Criss.
July 24, 1995 : "PARADISE LOST" release "Draconian Times".
July 24, 1984 : "METALLICA" release "Ride The Lightning".
July 24, 1990 : A wrongful death trial involving "JUDAS PRIEST" opens in Reno,Nevada.Parents had charged in a lawsuit that the band's "Stained Class" album contained subliminal messages that drove two teenagers to attempt suicide.The judge eventually cleared the group.
July 22, 1969 : "LED ZEPPELIN"'s debut goes gold.

July 14, 1999 : Gar Samuelson, the original "MEGADETH" drummer, dies at his home in Orange City, Florida. Cause of death was undiagnosed complications to the liver. Touted as 'the man who taught the speed metal world how to swing', Samuelson was a member of Megadeth during their beginning days and went on to record the gold LP, Killing is My Business and Business is Good, for Relativity Records and the multi-platinum, Peace Sells...But Who's Buying for Capitol Records.
July 14, 1997 : "MOTLEY CRUE"'s Generation Swine debuts at #4 on the Billboard top 200 with first-week sales of over 80,000 copies.
