MIKRES ALITHIES - MIKRES ALITHIES (SMALL TRUTHS)

"ΜΙΚΡΕΣ ΑΛΗΘΕΙΕΣ" or in English (SMALL TRUTHS) are a Greek band based on the island of Rodos.They were founded in 1996 and the members of the band are: Giannis Patros (drums),Pantelis Kikidopoylos (quitar-keyboards),Bairam Bedele (bass) and Kyriakos Stayroulakis (vocals-quitar).
Our friends "ΜΙΚΡΕΣ ΑΛΗΘΕΙΕΣ" (SMALL TRUTHS) style is a mixture of pop and alternative rock,while still trying to put new elements in their sound and songwriting.Still experimental based and slow paste,trying to achive a unique sound and their own music style.

"AC/DC" GUITARIST ANGUS YOUNG VOTED #1 ROCK ICON!!!

"AC/DC" lead guitarist Angus Young has been voted the top icon in rock history.According to a list in the U.K. rock magazine Kerrang!,Young holds the Number One ranking,ahead of Dave Grohl from "Foo Fighters",Billie Joe Armstrong from "Green Day","Iron Maiden" mascot 'Eddie' and the late Kurt Cobain from "Nirvana".The rankings feature some of Young's peers,like "Led Zeppelin"s Jimmy Page,"Black Sabbath"s Tony Iommi,"Aerosmith"s Joe Perry, and "Queen"s Brian May,while also saluting modern rockers like singer Amy Lee from "Evanescence", bassist Pete Wentz from "Fall Out Boy", guitarist Benji Madden from "Good Charlotte" and singer Chester Bennington from "Linkin Park". Besides Young,"AC/DC" was also represented on the "100 Icons" list by the late Bon Scott at Number 62, Brian Johnson at Number 81 and Malcolm Young at Number 90. According to the Kerrang! entry on Wikipedia, AC/DC was on the magazine's first cover back in June 1981.

"SMASHING PUMPKINS" READY FOR ALBUM RELEASE

The "SMASHING PUMPKINS" have added a new and slightly odd wrinkle to the release plans for the band's comeback album,"Zeitgeist",which is due to arrive on 7th of July 2007.According to Aversion.com,the record will be released at exactly 7:07 a.m.,which means the CD will come out at the seventh minute of the seventh hour of the seventh day of the seventh month, in the seventh year of the 21st century.Sounds like someone's trying to attach some sort of significance to that.Other details,such as song titles and the exact composition of the band,have yet to be revealed."Zeitgeist" is the first 'Pumpkins' album in seven years.Founder Billy Corgan dissolved the group after the release of 2000's "MACHINA/The Machines of God".

INITIAL "OZZFEST" BANDS ANNOUNCED

The initial batch of bands performing on this summer's 'Ozzfest' has been announced."Lamb Of God" and Finnish metal act "Lordi" will join headliner Ozzy Osbourne on the main stage, while "Hatebreed" will top the second stage lineup,which also includes "Mondo Generator","Ankla","Circus Diablo","Nile" and the "Showdown".The 24-city tour begins on July 12th in Seattle and, as previously announced by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, admission will be free.
More acts are expected to be announced in the weeks ahead, although there is industry speculation about whether the Osbournes can convince bigger artists to appear on all or part of the tour,or even on selected dates,for no pay.
Sharon Osbourne said at a press conference announcing the tour that she felt sure fans wouldn't be disappointed with this year's show:
"I think that Ozzy's audience know that historically Ozzy always has amazing music touring with him. And so I think the kids are fully confident that they're gonna get a great show."

CHRIS CORNELL TO RECEIVE MUSICARES BENEFIT AWARD

Former "AUDIOSLAVE" and "SOUNDGARDEN" singer Chris Cornell will be honored at the third annual MusiCares MAP Fund benefit concert, scheduled for Friday11 of May 2007, at the Music Box Theater in Hollywood California.According to a press release, Cornell will receive the 'Stevie Ray Vaughan Award' for his dedication and support of the MusiCares MAP Fund and his devotion to helping other addicts with the recovery process.All proceeds from the event will benefit the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment regardless of their financial situation.
